The Plough Inn is nestled in the heart of Tarrawingee, just outside Beechworth in Victoria’s High Country. Set along the Wangaratta–Beechworth Road and just 250 metres off the Great Alpine Road, it is an easy and scenic drive from Beechworth, Wangaratta and the surrounding region.
We are located 7km from the Hume Highway, 9 minutes from Milawa, 18 minutes from Beechworth and approximately 45 minutes from Bright.
Whether you are visiting from near or further afield, the journey is part of the experience.
Located just moments from the Beechworth–Yackandandah Rail Trail, The Plough is easy to find with parking available on site and nearby.
Just minutes from the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, The Plough Inn is a perfect place to stop, rest and enjoy something to eat or drink along the way.
We are approximately 4km from the Wangaratta end (accessed via Boralma–Tarrawingee Road) and 4.6km from the Everton end of the trail.

There is ample parking on the streets in front and around The Plough Inn.
The property features convenient drive-through access, making it well suited for guests travelling with trailers, caravans or larger vehicles.
Families are always welcome at The Plough Inn.
A children’s menu is available in the bistro and beer garden, and the lawn features play equipment for our younger guests to enjoy.
We do ask that children are supervised at all times to ensure their safety and the comfort of all guests.
Dogs are welcome in the beer garden on the lawn areas, however must be kept on a leash and under control at all times. We kindly ask that dogs remain clear of the main outdoor dining areas.
There are no EV charging stations located at The Plough Inn. The nearest charging stations are located in Wangaratta (approximately 10 minutes away) and Beechworth (approximately 20 minutes away).
